Our True Nature

I’ve been out of touch for a while. Its not really that I couldn’t have written something its just the mood or lack of it. Seems like words lack their power in the wake of events in Southeast Asia. My insignificant little part of the world has little bearing on life and death in countries half a world away.

Yet, having lived outdoors most of my life I am fully aware of nature’s potential to overwhelm all that is. And, once it is past, the pieces are picked up and everyone goes on. What else is there to do? The drama being played out before our eyes is testimony to the human spirit. So many people from around the globe have come together in a spirit of compassion it is very hard to believe that man is somehow corrupt by nature. It would seem that deviant behavior is far from inherent but is obviously a learned trait.

Wouldn’t it be nice if out of this staggering event a real understand of one another could evolve. I don’t know if governments could ever give up their distrust of one another, but I bet people could.
So Long,
The Cowboy
